Our Process

  1. Exploratory Phone Call:  We get to know you and hear about the project that you are looking to complete. 
  2. Free Consultation: A visit to your property to meet face-to-face, to become familiar with your expectations and to determine the feasibility of your project.
  3. Ideation & Proposal: We design a transformation of your space based on your needs, propose the design to you in person, and gather feedback.
  4. Plans & Drawings: Once approved by you, we draft a set of formal plans in preparation for the execution of the project. We do charge for formal plans, with cost completely dependent on scope and complexity of the project.
  5. Tweak Plans & Quote Project: Make any changes necessary to formal drawings and deliver a quote for the cost of execution.
  6. Execution: Once approved, work begins and you start to see your vision come to life in phases. At the end of each phase, we do a check in with you to ensure total satisfaction.
  7. Final Walkthrough: Work is completed and your space has been transformed! If applicable, we make a recommendation of someone who can provide any necessary maintenance to your project.

A Father-and-Son Team
Picket Fences D&C is Enrique and Sebastian — two generations, one standard. Enrique is a licensed general contractor with over 20 years building high-end homes and landscapes across San Diego. Sebastian brings an engineering and technology background to the design and client side. Together, they're hands-on from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.

Enrique — Founder & Licensed General Contractor
Enrique has spent over 20 years building some of San Diego County's finest residential projects, from six-figure custom backyards and pools to full home renovations. A licensed California general contractor (Lic. #981699) with deep hands-on expertise across construction, concrete, and finish work, he leads every project personally and draws the plans himself. His standard is simple: build it the way he'd build it for his own family.

Sebastian — Partner, Design & Operations
Sebastian brings a background in engineering and software from the aerospace industry to the family business, handling design, technology, and the client experience. He's your point of contact from first consultation through final walkthrough, keeping the process as clean and transparent as the finished work. Fluent in English and Spanish, like his father.
